Father’s Day

 

You don’t need us to tell you that it’s Father’s Day tomorrow! And we imagine that dads everywhere are secretly hoping that this year, you have a REAL treat for him. But it’s so difficult, isn’t it? Men are notoriously difficult to buy gifts for.

A recent survey has shown that most females have absolutely no idea what to buy their menfolk. But the two main things they think  men want are a) tickets to sporting events and b) power tools. (Come on girls, do you want a new vacuum cleaner for your birthday?) But the survey goes on to explain the two things that men really want.

The first item is actually more than one but the survey lumped them together – a smart-phone, an iPad or other tablet. I don’t know about you but even though I love my dad, the price tags are a little high there. So what’s the second thing dad’s say they want? Guess.

In second place was a home-cooked meal! This shows that it’s true what they say, that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but do you really want to be slaving over a hot stove? Of course not and that’s what we’re here for

Treat him to one of our wonderful cheeseboards. How about our Taste of Italy board? Pecorino, robiola, bosina, ubricaco, proscuitto, sopprasatta and olives. Mmm. This board goes well with a fruity red wine but if he’s an ale man, let him choose from our range of craft beers. Sit indoors or out and enjoy.

Or maybe he would like a French Lady? (Go on, ask him if he would like a French Lady for Father’s Day!) Bouche poitou, topped with chopped apricots, candied walnuts and drizled with honey.

Or you can create your own board from our selection of cheeses, charcuterie, bread and accompiments. We’ll make it to your dad’s own tastes. Another great idea is to take him on a picnic. Rent our picnic basket complete with glasses, utensils and everything you need. We’ll incdude whichever cheeses, meats and beverages you choose.

Of course, we have gift baskets and gift cards available but this year, give dad an experience – a very tasty one. It’s something he’ll never forget
